Introduction:
First of all, let me say that this website is for stupid people like me. If you are not a stupid person, if you have
God all figured out, then you may get offended by this website, and are strongly encouraged to leave. If,
however, you are like me and have spent a lifetime screwing up your life, and the lives of those around you,
there may be something here for you. This is my personal journey, and quest, to understand exactly who God
is (for me), who I am, why I am, and what I need to do to be a successful, and important part of this universe.
I have tried nearly everything imaginable to "get happy", and no matter how hard I have tried, I always end up
back where I started; alone, unhappy and confused, with my life in a shambles... Read more
Thought for the day... Is your faith theoretical?
Faith: 1faith noun \'fath\
: strong belief or trust in someone or something...
Do you really believe what you believe? Do you have a strong conviction of who God is to you, and what He
really wants for you? I've heard a lot of people proclaim their faith in God, including myself at times, yet
wonder why their life isn't a glorious spectacle for all to behold. I have personally shouted Him from the
mountain-top, proclaiming His omnipotence, while my personal life reflected something totally different. I
weighed nearly 300 lbs., I was broke, in debt, my marriage in shambles, and I was secretly miserable on the
inside. I would tell you how great God was, but my outsides would tell you something totally different. It was
really a kind of Santa Claus, theoretical sort of faith - which was really not faith at all... only hope. I hope God
will help me lose weight. I hope God will bring me some money, fix my marriage, and so on.
Faith is when I walk in to a dark room and reach for the light switch, without even thinking about it, believing
without a doubt that the light will come on. It usually does,so I put my faith in it. Faith in God works the same
way. If you truly believe that God is omnipotent, and that He loves you like a father loves his child, why
doesn't your life reflect that? If you have the faith you think you have, what have you overcome recently? What
has God done for you lately? Why doesn't the fat just melt away, the love just flow back into your marriage,
money just show up when it is needed? It may be because your faith is theoretical. It looks good on paper,
sounds good in church, but it has never been proven through pratical application. Consistently proven. We all
have had the occasional sensation of Divine intervention in a situation, but do we seek it daily? Do we
conciously look for God around us, and in others every day? Faith is not an insurance policy that we pull out
in a crisis, or like a jack when we have a flat tire. It is the tire that gets us there, whether the road is smooth,
or bumpy.
